Liberians have begun registering to vote in the West African country's first elections since the end of 14 years of conflict.
The presidential and parliamentary polls are due in October. Liberia's national electoral commission expects some 1.5 million people -- just under half the population -- to register to vote. However Interim leader Gyude Bryant, who has headed a transitional government since the civil war ended in 2003, expressed disappointment on Monday at the low turn out so far.
