agreed to set up a joint peace operation. A year and half ago, the
United Nations and the African Union deployed troops to Darfur as
part of the UNAMID mission to establish peace and protect the
people in the troubled province in western Sudan...

A stretch of the shoreline on a lake in the village of
Nachterstedt, located in the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt,
simply gave way early on Saturday, causing one home and part of an
adjacent apartment building to collapse and fall into the

Three thousand holidaymakers marooned abroad as travel office goes bankrupt One of the largest Czech travel agencies, Tomi Tour, has declared bankruptcy, literally marooning some 3,000 of its clients currently on holiday outside the Czech Republic. Czech Airlines has announced it would be working with the Slovakian insurance company Union pojišťovna to send empty airliners for the stranded holidaymakers, who are mainly in Egypt, Majorca and Turkey...
